With heartfelt jokes and stories of hardship, growth, and navigating his way through the oddities and attitudes of his students during his teaching days, the Worcester native pays homage to the city that helped raise him in a myriad of ways, from the setting and the music, to his less-than-glowing reflections on Great Brook Valley, all the while showing his unbridled support and appreciation for his former colleagues in the process.

We had the chance to chat with Baxter about the special, as well as what it took to change things up on the fly, trying something new, navigating through the emotions that come along with baring your soul in front of a hyper-hometown crowd, and so much more.

How does it feel to have this special come out? To be honest with you, the intention was originally supposed to be a thirty-minute set about teaching.

I decided to change it last minute, because with the amount of people that were calling me and telling me they were going to the show, it was a weird situation. But once we got to the day, I was just blown away by that moment.

So, I felt like I could shift between the two and mesh the two types together. It was the first time that I did it like that, and I feel like it worked out.

With that timeline in mind, and at the risk of being cheeky, does it feel like a sort of graduation for these stories by doing them this way after building them up for the last few years? It also felt like an introduction of myself to people that may not know anything about me. Doing it the way I did it puts everything in context.

I really feel like people will be able to walk away from this and know who I am a lot more than they did in those other situations. When I did Conan, it took me a long time, but I was able to do it after always wanting to, and since I started doing stand-up, I wanted to do a special that I was proud of. That in itself is an accomplishment for me. As it should be. I agree with you, man. The other thing I like about it is that if I had just gone up there and did solely teacher-centered material, I feel like people would think it was only for teachers to watch.

Some people will watch it and love it for the teacher material, and others will like it for the storytelling aspect, or it might even make someone think about reaching out to an old teacher they had to let them know how much they appreciated them. I feel like I got to do a lot of cool things with this one special.

How often do you get to tell a teacher you had that they had a huge impact on you, and that you appreciate them and love them for what they did for you? It was just great, and it was great that I got to do it at my old high school. Too many things, bro. I can imagine. There are so many aspects at play here. Your old principal is there, and your old teachers. How did you process that and navigate through those emotions to stay focused on the mission of delivering the special?

Worst case scenario was that I had a second show, and that was my attitude. I remember talking to [Directors] Luke [Jarvis] and Rob [Pooley], and telling them that I was going to do something different that night, and explaining to them that I was just going to let it roll and that I just needed them to rock with me on it. It was just a gut feeling. I had a conversation with Corey Rodrigues about two hours before the show, and I was telling what I was feeling and thinking.

Man, Corey is just such a positive force, huh? Just a super supportive dude for the scene.

We loved Discovery Cove. It was our first time there, so we purchased a lot of add-ons. However, the admission ticket has a lot you can do without the extras. We added on the following experiences… Sea Adventure — go deeper with a diving helmet to explore the floor and the sea creatures that are there I tapped out on this one — my claustrophobia got the best of me but the two people with me loved it , Swim with Sharks — one of my biggest fears are sharks.

This was an amazing adventure — the sharks are docile and you get to touch them. Swimming with the Dolphins — another great experience. Lastly, we purchased a cabana I would definitely do this again. We had our own private cabana, chairs, locker, and a person assigned to us to keep our supplies stocked towels, pop, water, snacks.

If you love the sea and sea creatures, this is a must. Review of: Discovery Cove. Andy P Paris, IL contributions. This is my favorite of the Disney theme parks. It is also the one with the most rides. The one that usually has the longest hours. And during this trip the crowds for this park were not super bad, still crowded but better wait times than Hollywood Studios especially.

Ticket prices are still higher than they should be so get the most out of it. Is it perfect? No there are things that could make it better. Will it ever be perfect? Probably not. Review of: Magic Kingdom Park. Underseige Wichita, KS 43 contributions. Pretty fun! Animal Kingdom was not our favorite theme park. We loved the safari and Pandora of course. Definitely take the time to wait for Pandora, but other than that, we felt like it was a complicated zoo.

Janyce T New Jersey 24 contributions. Tips for Harry Potter. My friend and I went specifically for Harry Potter World. Some helpful tips: -make sure to take the train both ways. I strongly suggest going to Diagon Alley first, taking the train to Hogsmeade, and then taking the train back to Diagon Alley. You may end up walking a bit more, but trust me, it really is worth it -Go during the week if you can.

It makes it super easy. And there is no online ordering like there is at the Leaky Cauldron. However, it's still a must for Harry Potter fans, and the outside has GREAT views of Hogsmeade -the interactive wands are not worth the price in my opinion-the places to cast spells are often very crowded, and most of the time they didn't work for me. Apparently you had to point the wand at just the right angle? But most of them didn't work and the ones that did were disappointing -make sure you pee before you get online for the rides!

There are no bathrooms along the way. I had to leave the line and walk quite a ways to find one -all of the rides were worth the wait, except Flight of the Hippogryph-VERY short for the wait -I would suggest 3 days..

I did love it and would return in a heartbeat! Review of: Universal Studios Florida. Mujahid A 1 contribution. Awesome job.
